* Because the s/n is post 1 million it can be safely said your rifle was made after 1960.ġ) In 1960, Savage Arms Corp. Well.I hope I can furnish you a better idea of the model and date of mfg. OK, putting 2 and 2 together the R indicates 1964, which is after 1951, could it be that the gun was made in 1964? What does the "10" in front of the "R" indicate? Did they have the rotary magazine w/indicator in 1964? How is the rotary magazine compared to a stacked magazine? Any pro's and con's.Thanks for any info. Is it possible to date the year of manufacture a bit closer?.Thanks. I ran the number on the above link and I got it was made after 1951. Any idea what year it was made with that serial number and "10P" on the lever boss? Any idea what it might be worth? I don't want to sell it just want to know about it.Thanks for any help.<. The serial number is 1070xxx and I have had it at least 35 years years and think I only fired it about 10 times. 308 and has the indicator visible on the left side of the receiver that shows how hany rounds are loaded. My 99 is in great shape, has a metal buttplate and wonderful wood in perfect condition with what appears to be cut checkering with 2 diamond patterns at the pistol grip section and a gold plated trigger. I checked the lettering on the lever boss, the circle is evident and the embossing in that circle is "10R". Here is a complete list of the Lever Boss Codes and their corresponding year of manufacture: The letters O and Q were skipped and not used due to their similar appearance.

The front half of the ovals circumference and whatever is inside the oval in front of the letter ∾ are indistinguishable. On my own late model ∾G, serial #709XXX, made in 1953, only the upper case letter ∾ and the rear half of the ovals circumference (which looks like a large, faint, backwards letter "C") barely show on the lever boss. On many Model 99 rifles, this oval is indistinct or difficult to read as are the letters and numbers inside the oval. Inside the oval, Savage stamped the letter "A" together with other numbers which are apparently inspectors numbers. The lever boss is the extension of the lower part of the receiver into which the lever fits and rotates. In 1949, Savage began stamping a tiny, lightly impressed oval on the lower, front side of the "lever boss". here is my previous post, I hope it helps you: I posted information on the "lever boss code" in this forum on another question of the age of a Model 99. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing it through.I must have missed your question on my previous visit to this forum.
#Savage serial number dates movie
Ultimately, if you find entertainment in series such as Rectify or the recent Sandra Bullock movie The Unforgivable, then I think this is worth a look, although I don't think this Australian production will outmatch either of those in writing quality or casting.

even if fairly cliche for this storyline. The acting is decent enough, and there is some intensity which is a good start. Information is slow to be had, and we don't really know what kind of a person she is or anything that has happened to develop her, inside of prison or out. Plot unrolling happens by character discovery and interactions, as well as the art of deciphering any kind of relationships and who's who. We start with following along a young woman who is just getting out of prison on parole and apparently returns to the very small hometown she started out in as a young girl. The style of this miniseries is to be dropped into a situation with no context or information.
